AAA Michigan Offers Road Rage Workshops to Law Enforcement

    DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 1 -- Preventing road rage is one of
today's most pressing traffic safety challenges with 16 percent of Michigan's
6.9 million motorists considered aggressive drivers.  That's why AAA Michigan
and the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP) are teaming up to
offer Oakland County law enforcement officers a workshop designed to provide
education and awareness on the dangers of road rage.
    The seminar will be held tomorrow, (Dec. 2) from 10 a.m. to noon at the
Pontiac Police Department Community Resource Center on 251 E. Rundell
(248-857-5754).  Gary Bubar, AAA Michigan traffic safety consultant, will
conduct the workshop and distribute videos and brochures provided by OHSP.
The Auto Club will make available additional instructional materials.
    AAA Michigan and OHSP are offering the session in the "train the trainer"
format so that participating law enforcement officers can teach valuable
prevention information and strategies to their respective colleagues.
    The December workshop is the first in a series of road rage seminars to be
offered in 2000.
