ABRA Auto Body & Glass Holds Airbag Safety Classes in Atlanta

ATLANTA--Nov. 16, 1999--ABRA Auto Body & Glass, a national damaged vehicle repair company with 69 locations in twelve states, is holding training sessions on airbag and restraint system safety for insurance personnel as well as First Responders, Fire Rescue and State Patrol workers.
With multiple airbag systems per vehicle, rescuers may be at risk if all the airbags do not deploy during an accident. In fact, several rescue workers around the country have been injured when airbags have deployed unexpectedly during extrications or rescue attempts. This class covers all types of airbag systems in vehicles today, what can be done to secure the scene at the crash, and what is coming in vehicles in the near future.
Over the past 2-1/2 years, ABRA has conducted 346 classes that have been attended by over 11,500 individuals. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, USA Today and various other organizations have commended the class. Airbags will be deployed in a cutaway vehicle at approximately 1:00 PM on both dates.
