13 November 1999

NEW BERN, N.C.-- Nissan North America's on-going efforts to assist eastern
North Carolina's flood victims, culminated last week when the automaker's
Mid-Atlantic Region and its eastern North Carolina retailers presented a
$10,000 check to Governor Hunt for the state's Hurricane Relief Fund.

The presentation was made at a ceremony at Craven Community College in New
Bern, North Carolina. Governor Hunt was on hand to accept the donation and a
personal letter from Gary Frigo, vice president of Nissan's Mid-Atlantic
Region. On hand to make the presentation were William Buchanan of Goldsboro
Nissan and Robert Strickland of Eastern Carolina Nissan, located in Goldsboro
and New Bern respectively.

"The dealers in our region are part of the communities they serve, so we
were compelled to do whatever we could to assist the residents of these areas
which are still suffering from the destruction and devastation of the recent
hurricanes. We wish Governor Hunt and the communities of eastern North
Carolina, a quick recovery," said Gary Frigo, vice president of Nissan's
Mid-Atlantic Region, which includes the eastern North Carolina market area
retailers.

This is the third donation this year from Nissan and its retailers to the
state of North Carolina. In September, Nissan North America, Inc., the
corporate headquarters of Nissan's operations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico
contributed $10,000 to the Red Cross Carolina Hurricane Flood Relief Fund. In
addition, over $18,000 was donated by 11 Nissan retailers in the Charlotte,
North Carolina market area as a result of their campaign to donate $100 for
every new Nissan vehicle sold between September 23rd - 30th to the same fund.

In North America, Nissan's operations include styling, engineering,
consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and
manufacturing. Nissan in North America, which includes employees and
facilities in the United States, Canada and Mexico, generates more than 90,000
jobs, approximately 20,000 directly and 71,000 through more than 1,500 Nissan
and Infiniti retailers across the continent.
