Acura Announces Pricing of 2000 Integra Type RTORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 10 -- The racing-tuned Acura Integra Type R returns to the 2000 Acura lineup after a one-year hiatus and will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $24,350, the company announced today. The limited production Integra Type R, available in two new colors and now featuring air conditioning as standard equipment, are being shipped to Acura dealers this week. At the heart of the racing-inspired Type R is a 195-horsepower, 4-cylinder VTEC engine and an ultra close-ratio 5-speed transmission with limited-slip differential. The powerplant features numerous Acura engineering advancements, making it one of the most powerful 4-cylinder engines in America. Designed with serious driving enthusiasts in mind, the handling prowess of the Integra Type R is enhanced by its track-tuned suspension, reinforced unit body structure, large disc brakes and calipers and exclusive high-performance wheels and tires. Aerodynamics and exterior styling are enhanced by the addition of a front chin spoiler, rear wing-type spoiler and body colored side sills. The 2000 Integra Type R is available in Phoenix Yellow and Flamenco Black Pearl. The Type R interior features unique sport-style seats to keep the driver firmly planted behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel, a carbon fiber style instrument panel, a titanium shifter knob and a special serial number plate on the center console. The 2000 model year Integra Type R, like all Acura vehicles, is covered by a comprehensive 4-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty.
