DaimlerChrysler Announces Renowned Product Application Awards
    LAS VEGAS, Nov. 3 -- DaimlerChrysler
announced the winners of the industry recognized Product Application Awards,
part of the fifth DaimlerChrysler Design Excellence Awards, at the 1999
Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show.  The 1999 award recipients
are:

    *  1. EGR -- Ground effects package for Neon
    *  2. Inalfa -- Skylite sunroof for Grand Cherokee
    *  3. Relfexxion Automotive -- Steel hood with scoop for Durango
    *  4. Xtang -- Cargo cleat for Dakota
    *  5. Dyna Glass -- Sliding glass front window for Wrangler
    *  6. Best Top -- Two-piece hardtop for Wrangler

    The DaimlerChrysler Product Application Awards are presented to companies
that express outstanding innovation, superior design and advanced process
application management in developing aftermarket parts for DaimlerChrysler's
Chrysler, Dodge, Dodge Truck and Jeep(R) vehicles.
    "These awards are a reflection of the growing relationship we've developed
with the aftermarket and SEMA," said Dennis Myles, Senior Design Manager at
DaimlerChrysler's Dodge Truck Studio.  "By recognizing the quality and
creativity achieved through design excellence we ultimately increase product
value for our customers."
    Winners are evaluated based on categories, which include design
achievement, overall quality, significance, technical execution, attention to
detail and conceptual relevance.
    This year's product application entries were judged by the DaimlerChrysler
Image Team, consisting of five cross-functional teams, representing
Engineering, Design, Product Planning and Marketing, headed by Myles.
    DaimlerChrysler's Product Application Awards acknowledge innovative
thinking, design excellence and/or superior process management.  These awards
are not meant to be an endorsement or warranty, expressed or implied, by
