    SEBASTOPOL, Calif., Oct. 26 -- Leading electric vehicle maker

second company owned electric vehicle store, this time on the island of Key
West, Florida.
    Located in the heart of Key West's historic district, the new ZAPWORLD
store and service center will emphasize the rental and sale of electric
vehicles made by ZAP and other firms to the nearly 3.5 million tourists who
visit Key West each year.
    "After looking at the entire EV industry, it was clear ZAP's strategy of
an EV store is one of the best ways to spark interest in the marketplace,"
said Bruce Amsterdam, a long time Key West resident and businessman who has
been engaged by ZAP as manager of the new store. "This strategy can serve as a

    Amsterdam said the Florida Keys are among the most beautiful and
environmentally threatened habitats in the country. More than 1 million cars
visit Key West per year. Electric vehicles could improve air quality, traffic
congestion, and parking shortages as well as enhance the overall tourist
experience.
    In August, ZAP opened a similar store in San Francisco's Fisherman's
Wharf. ZAP's goal is to reach new customers by establishing sales and rental
operations in major tourist destinations around the world. In addition to
