Thrifty Car Rental Kicks Off Neighbors Together(R) Fundraising Effort Expected To Raise More Than $70,000; Proceeds to Benefit Children in More Than 70 Cities

    TULSA, Okla., Oct. 25 -- Thrifty Car Rental will kick off its
fifth-annual Neighbors Together(R) campaign benefiting children's charities
throughout the U.S. beginning November 1, 1999, with plans to raise in excess
of $70,000.
    Participating Thrifty Car Rental franchise locations will donate at least
fifty cents per rental during the month of November to the local children's
non-profit organization of their choice.  The corporate headquarters of
Thrifty Car Rental will donate an additional $25,000 to be divided among these
local charities based on fundraising levels at participating locations.
    Beginning its fifth year, the Thrifty Car Rental Neighbors Together
program has raised more than $300,000 for children's charities across the
United States.
    "The Neighbors Together program is a wonderful way for Thrifty to
positively affect the lives of literally thousands of children," said Scott
Anderson, Executive Vice President of Thrifty.  "The great thing about
Neighbors Together is that it impacts kids from coast to coast, from Alaska to
Florida, New York to California, and many cities in between."
    Some of this year's partnering charities are:  Special Olympics,
Boys & Girls Clubs of America, D.A.R.E., Kids & Cops of Houston, The
Leprechaun Foundation of Cleveland, Operation Smile of Charlotte and many
other deserving charities.
