California Passes School Bus Restraint Law

SAN DIEGO--Oct. 20, 1999--The Majestic Companies Ltd. (OTCBB:MJXC) is pleased to announce that the continuing escalation of school bus restraint legislation made a big step forward in California recently with the official signing into law by Governor Gray Davis of State Bill AB15, a measure that mandates the installation of safety restraints on California school buses.
"This recent development reconfirms our long held position that individual states will continue to push new legislation into place that mandates occupant restraints on school buses. The market for our new SAFE-T-BAR(TM) and SAFE-T-SEAT(TM) occupant restraint systems continue to grow as each new state passes a bus occupant restraint law," stated Adrian Corbett, President of Majestic's Transportation Products division.
The new bill was officially signed into law on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999 and affects all school buses purchased in California after Jan. 1, 2002.
The company expects recent NTSB findings, which discount seatbelts as a viable solution, to displace any existing legislative language suggesting expanded seatbelt usage. Safety experts and crash studies increasingly point to the SAFE-T-BAR(TM) and SAFE-T-SEAT(TM) as the industry's best answer to the school bus safety issue.
Majestic Transportation Products Ltd. owns the worldwide rights to the SAFE-T-BAR(TM) lap-bar safety restraint system for school buses and has recently announced the existence of their new proprietary bus seat design, the SAFE-T-SEAT(TM).
