Land Rover Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Debuts at Miami's South Florida International Auto ShowLand Rover Presents a Pre-Owned Vehicle at a New-Car Auto Show For the First Time LANHAM, Md., Oct. 7 -- For the first time, Land Rover North America, Inc. will display a Certified pre-owned Land Rover on its corporate stand during a major international auto show. The British Racing Green 1997 Land Rover Discovery, showing 21,375 miles on the odometer, will share floor space at the 29th annual South Florida International Auto Show with the new 2000 model year Range Rover and Discovery Series II vehicles. "Land Rover Certified is an important part of Land Rover's sales strategy as it offers the Land Rover ownership experience to more people," said Jim Paugels, manager of Land Rover Pre-Owned Vehicles. "Our research shows that consumers are eighteen times more likely to purchase a manufacturer's certified pre-owned vehicle than a non-certified vehicle. We believe all Land Rovers, new or pre-owned, should be handled by Land Rover retailers because they know these vehicles better than anyone and are better positioned to offer an excellent ownership experience." The 1997 Land Rover Discovery appearing at the show has passed the Land Rover Certified program's 100-point vehicle inspection and carries a suggested retail price of $27,850. The V-8-powered Discovery features a leather interior, premium sound system with a six-disc CD auto-changer, dual air bags, four-wheel ABS and permanent four-wheel drive. It has been outfitted with new Land Rover Vehicle Kit accessories, including a wrap-around brush bar and running boards. All Land Rover Certified vehicles feature a standard 12-month/12,000-mile warranty and are included in Land Rover's 24-Hour Road Recovery(TM) program. To ease the purchase process, Land Rover Financial Services offers Certified customers a range of competitive financing and lease options. Land Rover North America, Inc., established in 1986, imports Range Rover and Discovery Series II vehicles manufactured in Solihull, England, for sale in the U.S. and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The BMW Group, Munich, Germany.
