Saab 9-5 Among Top Three Entry Luxury Vehicles In J.D. Power and Associates Apeal Study
9-5 Receives High Marks With Customers in its First Year in Study

NORCROSS, Ga., Sept. 27 -- In the 1999 J.D. Power and
Associates Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, the
Saab 9-5 finished among the top three in the Entry Luxury segment -- an
impressive showing for the Saab 9-5 in its first year in the study.
The J.D. Power and Associates' APEAL Study has become a benchmark for
measuring the appeal of new vehicles and the features that excite owners. It
measures how satisfied customers are with over one hundred attributes of their
vehicle including powertrain, exterior and interior design and more.
The Saab 9-5, offered in both Sedan and Wagon body styles, offers a number
of features that owners appreciate, like turbocharged engines that combine
thrilling driving performance with excellent fuel efficiency, and useful
interior space that includes both passenger compartment roominess and
practical trunk and cargo space. The 9-5 Wagon, for example, offers such
features as CargoTracks(TM) (an innovative load-securing system), a hard
parcel shelf and an optional sliding load floor -- all of which provide
versatile load-carrying ability.
