Nissan & Local Retailers Support a Special Day for Leukemia

    WILLIAMSBURG, Va., Sept. 19 / -- Today, Nissan North America's Mid-Atlantic 
Region and local area Norfolk Nissan retailers donated in excess of $6,000 to 
the Leukemia Society of America in celebration of Leukemia Society Awareness 
Month and the 50th anniversary of the Leukemia Society of America.

    The third annual Patient Day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg will offer a
free fun filled day at the park for children affected by leukemia, lymphoma or
Hodgkin's disease and their families with lunch and t-shirts provided by
Nissan.

    This is the third year for Nissan and its local area Norfolk retailers to
participate in Patient Day.  "We are delighted to be able to participate once
again in Leukemia Society's mission to find a cure for this tragic disease,"
said Gary Frigo, Regional Vice President, Nissan North America, Inc.

    In the United States, Leukemia is the number one disease killer of
children ages 2-14.  It is curable only through time consuming and expensive
treatments, including chemotherapy, bone marrow and/or stem cell transplants.
Because of the strain this disease puts on the patient and their family,
Patient Day is the only vacation most will have this year.

    In North America, Nissan's operations include styling, engineering,
consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and
manufacturing.  Nissan in North America, which includes employees and
facilities in the United States, Canada and Mexico, generates more than 90,000
jobs, approximately 20,000 directly and over 71,000 through approximately
1,500 Nissan and Infiniti retailers across the continent.
