Scoring an International Victory; Victory Motorcycles Expands to Canada

7 September 1999

MINNEAPOLIS--Sept. 7, 1999--Victory Motorcycles announced plans today to begin selling bikes in Canada, beginning in Spring 2000.

In 1998, Victory ended the drought of new American-made cruisers when it developed the V92C, the first original heavyweight cruiser in more than 50 years. Last month, Victory introduced its second bike at the world-famous Sturgis Rally, and invited the whole world to watch via live Webcast. Now Victory is poised to expand internationally.

"Victory is a $200 million growth opportunity for our company," said Tom Tiller, President and CEO, Polaris Industries, parent company of Victory Motorcycles. "Victory has received a warm welcome and achieved success in the U.S. Now is the time to take our bikes north of the border, and eventually overseas."

More than 325 dealers across the United States and Canada attended a Victory dealer meeting last month in Reno, Nev., where they received an early look at the new Victory V92SC SportCruiser(TM). The SportCruiser represents a motorcycle category buster, merging the performance and handling of a sport bike with the sleek styling and comfort of a cruiser. Along with the 2000 model V92C, the SportCruiser will be available at U.S.

Victory Motorcycle dealers this fall, and throughout Canada next Spring.

"We're very pleased with the growth and progress of our dealer network nationwide," said Matt Parks, general manager, Victory Motorcycles. "Coming off the strong dealer meeting last month, we're convinced that gaining a firm foothold in Canada is another step in the right direction for our company."
