CASCAR: Gibbons wins CASCAR race at Mosport

BOWMANVILLE, ON Polesitter Peter Gibbons of Stouffville, ON beat Oakville,
ONs
Robin Buck by 4.163 seconds to win the third round of the CASCAR Castrol Super
Series (National), the UAP/NAPA presents the C.A.G. 250 km at Mosport
International Raceway on Sunday.
Gibbons took his Canadian Tire Chevrolet Monte Carlo past the Castrol
Canada Dodge of DJ Kennington on lap 56 of the 64-lap race. Buck, driving the
UAP/NAPA Pontiac Grand Prix, made a dramatic pass of Kennington a lap later but
was unable to challenge Gibbons over the remaining eight laps.
Kennington, from St. Thomas, ON, settled for third while Kerry Micks of
Mt. Albert, ON was fourth in his Ford Fastlane Ford Taurus.
With his win, Gibbons extended his lead in the unofficial CASCAR
Castrol Super Series (National) point standings. Gibbons now has 1,318 points to the
1,288 of Don Thomson Jr. Thomson, the points leader coming into Mosport,
finished 10th in his Home Hardware Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
