Hayes Lemmerz Launches Wheel/Tire Sub-Assembly Facility for DaimlerChrysler

    NORTHVILLE, Mich., Aug. 26 -- Hayes Lemmerz International,
Inc. , one of the leading suppliers of automotive and commercial
highway wheels, brakes, suspension, structural and other light weight
components to the global transportation industry, today announced that it is
inaugurating its facility in Bremen, Germany to supply wheel/tire
sub-assemblies for DaimlerChrysler.
   The facility will supply assemblies on a just in time basis for the
Mercedes C class vehicle including the CLK Coupe and Convertible version.
This is Hayes Lemmerz's fourth facility for just-in-time delivery of
wheel/tire sub-assemblies in Europe.  In September, Hayes will also begin a
new wheel/tire assembly facility for Skoda in Molda Boleslav in the Czech
Republic.
