WORTH Names Luxury Cars of the Year; September 1999 On Sale Date: August 24, 1999

NEW YORK--(AutomotiveWire)--Aug. 19, 1999--Keeping up its tradition of groundbreaking features, WORTH magazine is the first business/finance magazine to name the luxury cars of the year. The winners are: Mercedes S500 as Luxury Car of the Year, Lincoln Navigator as Luxury Sport Utility of the Year and Jaguar S-TYPE as Luxury Value of the Year.

1. LUXURY CAR OF THE YEAR: MERCEDES S500
WORTH editors and Mercedes agree that the best doesn't
necessarily cost the most. With the base price trimmed by almost
$10,000, the Mercedes S500's new retail price is $77,850. Totally
redesigned with slimmer dimensions, making it respond more nimbly
to steering and more quickly to braking, but the body remains as
spacious as the former larger model.

2. LUXURY SPORT UTILITY OF THE YEAR: LINCOLN NAVIGATOR
The massive V-8 can handle outdoor lifestyle demands of today's
upscale SUV Lincoln Navigator customer. Movable pedals and
four-corner load-leveling suspension are among the new features
that provide the driver of the Lincoln Navigator with a luxurious
ride - even for a larger automobile.

3. LUXURY VALUE OF THE YEAR: JAGUAR S-TYPE
At $42,500, the S-TYPE continues the ever-distinctive Jaguar
tradition at a price that allows enough change for a down-payment
    for a luxury SUV.

WORTH debuted in 1992, setting a new standard for financial and business journalism. The magazine reaches 1 million readers with a median net worth of $1 million plus. Edited by John Koten, WORTH is published by Capital Publishing.
