Pirtek Spring Branch Opens In Houston

ROCKLEDGE, Fla.--Aug. 13, 1999--New On-site hydraulic hose replacement and repair service provides "Just in Time" service to local industries.
Pirtek USA, the premier on-site hydraulic hose delivery and installation service in the nation is announcing the opening of its newest location, Pirtek Spring Branch in Houston, Texas. Its Owner, Gil Boyd, will oversee the daily management of sales and operations of the Hose Service Center as well as three Mobile Sales & Service Units (MSSU).
Pirtek, one of the nations few industrial franchises, sells, installs and repairs specialized hoses and fittings for companies that rely on hydraulic, fluid power, or air systems. "With a background in mining and construction, I immediately recognized the value of Pirtek's system of on-site service", says Boyd. "This level of direct customer service was never available to me when I was dealing with hose failures in the field."
The Hose Center is a 3500 square foot facility that provides over-the-counter service. It also acts as a base for the radio dispatched Mobile Sales & Service Units, which gives Pirtek the ability to provide a high level of 24-hour customer service. Pirtek's response time is generally within one hour, regardless of the time or day of the call. The Houston, Texas market is ripe for the Pirtek System with a broad base of industrial, construction, and transportation businesses in the metro area. The pace of business is very fast in Houston and customers cannot afford the costs of unplanned downtime for their critical equipment.
Before Pirtek Spring Branch, Boyd was involved in the mining and construction industries. His business experience in these industries will help him identify customer needs and expectations. By providing a "Just in Time," solution, Pirtek Spring Branch is on track for success.
Morgan Arundel, President of Pirtek USA is excited to tap into the growing Houston market. "From the start, Gil took the ball and ran with it. He recognizes the customer needs and expectations and has a great future as a Pirtek business owner."
Boyd has already had a great response in Houston. "In our first week we did work for a large nationwide firm that is currently utilizing Pirtek centers in other U.S. locations," says Boyd. "It was a great feeling to walk into their offices and find that the Pirtek name was synonymous with service in their eyes. I see this as a huge advantage for a new business owner."
Pirtek, a derivative of Pirelli Technology (a large tire and rubber manufacturing company), began in Australia in 1980, expanded to the UK in 1990, and entered the U.S. market when Pirtek USA opened in 1996. Pirtek internationally has over 170 centers in nine countries. Pirtek USA currently has nine operating franchises in the U.S., and plans to open four more by the end of 1999. That pace will increase slightly over the next few years, until the company reaches an optimum opening rate of 18 to 20 units per year.
