Subaru Announces Pricing on 2000 Model Year Impreza and Forester Models
CHERRY HILL, N.J., July 28 -- Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA)
announced today the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) on the 2000
model year Impreza and Forester model lines. For the new model year, the value
story on these lines improves with more standard equipment. As with the Legacy
and Outback, all Impreza and Forester models now come standard with 24-hour
roadside assistance and Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) certification for all 50
states. In keeping with the company's strategic direction, the 2000 model year
Impreza and Forester models remain exclusively all-wheel drive.

    SUBARU IMPREZA
The Impreza model line is available in coupe, sedan, wagon and Outback
Sport body styles. New for 2000, Subaru introduces the Impreza 2.5 RS Sedan.
This new vehicle combines the aggressive performance and handling of the
popular 2.5 RS Coupe with the convenience of a sedan.
The 2.5 RS Coupe and Sedan have added standard features including cruise
control and viscous limited-slip rear differential for a minimal MSRP increase
of $100. The Impreza L models continue to offer great standard features, as
well as the safety, performance and handling of the Subaru All-Wheel Driving
System for no price increase.
Subaru gave the Outback Sport a more aggressive look with the addition of
standard upper and center rear spoilers and body color side mirrors, door
handles and side molding for the 2000 model year. With cruise control as an
added standard feature, the Outback Sport represents a true value with only a
$100 increase in MSRP.
Automatic transmission is available on all Impreza models for $800.

    SUBARU FORESTER
Forester continues to lead its segment, setting the standard in
performance, handling, active safety and standard equipment. Forester is
available in two trim levels: L and S. For the 2000 model year, Subaru added
cruise control as a standard feature to the Forester L model and a viscous
limited-slip rear differential to the Forester S model. Subaru added these
features for only a minimal price increase of $100.
Automatic transmission is available on both models for $800.
Destination and delivery charges remain at $495 for all vehicles (except
in Alaska, $685).
Subaru of America, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuji Heavy
Industries Ltd. of Japan. Headquartered near Philadelphia, the company
markets and distributes Subaru vehicles, parts and accessories through a
network of nearly 600 franchised dealers across the United States. All Legacy
models sold in the U.S., including the Outback and Outback Sedan, are produced
at the company's American manufacturing plant, Subaru-Isuzu Automotive, Inc.,
near Lafayette, Ind.
