Infiniti Announces 2000 I30 Pricing At $29,465; Infiniti's Redesigned Luxury Sedan Offers More Value Than Ever
GARDENA, Calif., July 27 -- Infiniti, the luxury division of
Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA), announced pricing for the all-new,
second-generation, 2000 Infiniti I30 Luxury Sedan, which goes on sale
September 1999. The new I30 has a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price
(MSRP) of $29,465 (plus D&H fees of $525), offering consumers an outstanding
value. Refer to attached product & price list for complete pricing info.
The $29,465 price for the I30 Luxury Sedan includes more of everything --
increased power, larger interior room, more safety and luxury features and
refined ride and handling.
The elegantly styled I30 Luxury Sedan once again raises the class standard
for advanced technology and design innovation. Refinements and additions to
the second-generation I30 include a near-20 percent increase in horsepower, a
re-tuned suspension, a standard 200-watt BOSE audio system and enhanced safety
features -- including side-impact airbags with head protection and a new
active head restraint system designed to help reduce whiplash neck injuries.
In addition to the enhancements to the I30 Luxury Sedan, a 2000 I30
Touring Sedan is offered with an even higher level of luxury and performance
with an MSRP of $31,540 (plus D&H fees of $525). The touring model offers a
host of standard features including viscous limited-slip differential, 17-inch
alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension, smoked headlight treatment, and High
Intensity Discharge (HID)-Xenon headlights.
"We've taken one of the most technically advanced vehicles in its class
and refined or enhanced nearly every system," said Tom Orbe, Vice President
and General Manager, Infiniti Division. "Once again our mid-size Infiniti I30
offers the equipment usually reserved for other manufacturers' larger, more
expensive flagship sedans," said Orbe. "The new I30 raises the bar for all
cars in its class. It offers powerful elegance within reach."
The I30's exterior, completely restyled for 2000, is larger than the
previous model, with a dramatic 4.1-inch overall length increase (from 189.6
inches to 193.7 inches). The interior has also been enhanced from the
previous generation I30. The 2000 model offers 2.4 additional cubic feet of
passenger compartment volume (increased from 99.6 to 102.0 cubic feet).
The already award-winning I30 V-6 engine has also been refined through the
use of new intake and exhaust manifolds, Nissan Variable Induction System
(NVIS) air intake control with a plastic intake collector, new equal length
exhaust pipes and the addition of a new variable capacity muffler technology
adopted from the high performance Nissan Skyline GT-R. A special muffler
poppet valve, using high temperature aerospace spring technology and
materials, opens at 2,000 rpm and above -- reducing exhaust system
backpressure. These changes help increase the engine's horsepower from 190 to
227 and torque from 205 ft-lbs to 217 ft-lbs.
