STREAMING AUDIO: Humane Society of the United States Recommends Seat Belts For Dogs

NEW YORK--July 2, 1999--The Humane Society of the United States says when it comes to riding in the car, kids and dogs should have a lot in common. The safest spot for both is buckled up in the back. Saab is offering a dog harness and restraint system that clips on to the seat belt in the back seat.
In the new Saab 9-5 Wagon, the restraint system attaches to the cargo tracks built into the floor of the cargo area ... giving your pet plenty of room to move and still be safely secured.
