Mazda Reports Month-End June Sales

    IRVINE, Calif., July 1 -- Mazda North American Operations
(MNAO) reported U.S. sales today of 22,709 units for the month of June.  With
the Mazda MPV minivan accounting for about ten percent of Mazda's national
sales, and an all-new 2000 MPV just beginning to arrive in West Coast
dealerships, Mazda expects total sales to increase dramatically by the time
the MPV officially launches in September.
    Mazda North American Operations is responsible for the research and
development, sales and marketing, and customer parts and service support of
Mazda vehicles in the United States.  Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., MNAO
has approximately 750 dealerships nationwide and is owned by Mazda Motor
Corporation, Hiroshima, Japan.
