Huffy Bicycles Agrees to Distribute ZAPPY Electric Scooters
through its U.S. Distribution Channels

    SEBASTOPOL, Calif.--The Huffy Bicycle Company, a division of the Huffy Corporation and ZAPWORLD.COM announced today they have reached an agreement to sell the ZAPPY electric scooter through Huffy's U.S. distribution channels. The announcement was made jointly by Bill Smith, Vice President of Marketing for Huffy Bicycles and Andrew Hutchins, General Manager for ZAPWORLD.COM.

    "There is a great synergy between Buzz and ZAPPY and by marrying the two in the mass retail market, we have created a new niche in personal electric vehicles," said Smith. "We believe this alliance will not only benefit Huffy and ZAP, but it provides consumers with fun, transportation alternatives," said Hutchins.

    In addition, Huffy's recently introduced Buzz electric scooter will be sold alongside ZAP's ZAPPY electric scooter through Huffy's U.S. network of mass-market retailers this summer. ZAP will also continue to market ZAPPY through its own network of specialty retailers.
    Huffy's new Buzz electric scooter is a sit down scooter that appeals to baby boomers and comfort-conscious riders while ZAP markets its year-old ZAPPY, a stand-up electric scooter, to Gen-Xers and extreme sports enthusiasts. Both scooters are collapsible, rechargeable via standard 110 volt outlet.

    Based in Miamisburg, OH, Huffy has been building bicycles for more than 100 years and today is the world's largest bicycle manufacturer, marketing a complete line of bikes for adults. and children.

    ZAP has sold thousands of electric bikes and scooters to commuters and recreational cyclists worldwide. The company is the leading provider of electric bikes in the United States.
