    The National Brotherhood of Skiers, Inc. (NBS) will enter the 21st century with renewed support, optimism for the future and moving closer to accomplishing its goals as the organization ends the 1998-99 ski season. The Pontiac.GMC will play a significant role in the culmination of the NBS impressive ski season when they select the winners of two vehicles donated by their title sponsors at a drawing on Saturday, June 12, 1999, at 7:00 PM at the Omni Detroit Hotel, Detroit, Michigan. The lucky persons will win either a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP or a 1999 GMC Envoy. Monies raised will benefit the NBS - Olympic Scholarship Fund. The organization has fortified a tremendous partnership with Pontiac.GMC. At the NBS Black Summit recently held in Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended by 4000 black skiers, Pontiac.GMC announced a continuous financial commitment, over 3 years, towards the organization's Olympic Scholarship Fund. This is one of many donations from the corporation on a national and regional level, which has been instrumental in the progress of the organization nationwide. Pontiac.GMC continues to exhibit their support of the goals and objectives of the NBS by providing outstanding financial support. The relationship with Pontiac.GMC has contributed to the success of the NBS youth programs.
    The NBS provides youth training scholarships to ski academies. The NBS' mission is to identify, train and develop Olympic caliber athletes. Its primary goal is to provide support to enable one or more of its youth members to be placed on the U.S. Ski Team. Additionally, the organization has introduced thousands of African Americans to the sport of skiing. The NBS is known as one of the largest ski organizations and host the largest ski convention in the nation.
    The goal-oriented drive, among the collective membership and corporate support, has resulted in major accomplishments among its top youth ski racers. Suki and Andre Horton, brother and sister, are members of the NBS National Race Team and Suki was named to the National Junior Group-Women/U.S. Ski Team - Development Team. Both were named to the Western Elite Ski Team. Suki finished first place on March 26, 1999 in Giant Slalom race at the Rolex Western JI Olympics in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; both Suki and Andre participated in the Chevy Truck U.S. Alpine and Freestyle Championships on March 19-24, 1999 in Utah.
    The NBS will reaffirm its dedication and commitment for the new millennium at their Annual Meeting and Challenge Cup (AM/CC) Mini-summit at Cooper Mountain February 12 - 19, 2000. Pontiac.GMC will be the title sponsor for this event. The week will consists of various ski and non-ski activities, and again, the NBS will host a National USSA Race.
