Subaru Mid-America Region Reports May Sales: Best May Sales Month on Record
ITASCA, Ill., June 1 -- The Subaru Mid-America Region
announced its May sales figures. The Mid-America Region posted a sales total
of 1,600 units for the month, up 24 percent over the same period last year.
Year-to-date totals are up 31 percent over 1998 year-to-date totals. May 1999
marks the best May sales month on record for this region.
Nationally, Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) today announced its May sales
figures. Subaru recorded a sales total of 11,430 units for the month,
slightly down over the same period last year (12,280 units). The decrease is
due in part to limited Legacy availability. Since the end of April the

Legacy models in preparation for the launch of the new 2000 model year Legacy
vehicles. Year-to-date totals of 58,322 units are up 10 percent over 1998
year-to-date totals.
