autorecyclersinc.com Introduces Web Site Featuring Actual Used Auto Parts Inventories
HALTOM CITY, Texas, March 12 -- Auto Recyclers, Inc., (ARI)
today announced that they had placed used auto parts inventories on the
Internet for their three largest Texas locations. Mike Gibson, ARI's CIO
states, "This is a significant milestone for Auto Recyclers, Inc. and our
industry as we move into the electronic marketplace." He adds, "The combined
inventories of these three locations represents approximately
100,000 recycled, (used) auto parts that were previously stored on our in
house proprietary system, available only to our sales staff. Although many
recyclers have web sites, featuring actual inventories is unprecedented."
Auto Recyclers, Inc. is a recently consolidated business of 4 individually
owned Auto Recyclers in Texas, and is the largest Auto Recycler in the
Southwest, recycling over 6,000 vehicles annually. ARI's president, Mr. Ron
Sturgeon, says, "Following our recent consolidation, our Internet presence is
but one of many ways that Auto Recyclers, Inc. intends to offer customers the
best used auto parts value in North America." Auto Recyclers, Inc. is also a
member of United Recyclers Group (URG) a recently formed coalition of over
350 auto recyclers throughout North America. URG's manager, Sharon Kellum
says, "We encourage our recyclers to use the most modern technologies
available, to better serve their customers." She adds, "Only about 5% of the
motoring public utilizes recycled parts and efforts such as this will
certainly increase awareness for our product."
The Auto Recycling industry is a $6 billion business comprised of over
7,000 predominately family owned operations throughout the United States.
"Internet commerce is the cutting edge," says Mr. Sturgeon, "Especially in an
industry where MIS technology has been largely unavailable to Auto Recyclers,
as over 90% of the computer systems were supplied by only two vendors whose
operating systems are decades old."
Auto Recyclers, Inc.'s largest location, AAA Small Car World, in Haltom
City, Texas has been the largest nationwide specialist for luxury import parts
for some time, with over 50% of its business generated outside the state.
Mr. Sturgeon adds, "AAA Small Car World is uniquely qualified to serve
customers worldwide, as we have steadily grown our logistics systems to serve
customers out of our local area. Additionally, our new 40,000 SF distribution
and shipping center which opened recently will leverage this Internet
opportunity."
