Autoweb.com Captures Largest Industry Audience Share
            December Marks All-Time High for Company's Web Traffic

    SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 10 -- According to Media Metrix,
Autoweb.com was the most frequently visited, fastest growing consumer
automotive Internet service in December 1998. The results show more and more
consumers are making Autoweb.com their Internet destination site to find and
buy automotive products and services.

    According to figures released from Media Metrix, an independent Internet
traffic measurement company that evaluates more than 15,000 Web sites,
Autoweb.com captured the largest audience share of automotive viewers during
the month of December, ahead of  all other reported automotive sites. Media
Metrix reported Autoweb.com's audience reach at 2.1%. This figure represents
the percentage of total Internet users who visited the Autoweb.com site.
In a related Media Metrix analysis, Autoweb.com was rated one of the
15 fastest-growing shopping Web sites during the month of December, when
e-commerce activity reached an all-time high.
