Chicago Auto Show Sets All Time Single Day Record
CHICAGO, Feb. 21 -- An all-time single day attendance record
for the Chicago Auto Show was set Saturday when 199,374 patrons made their way
to the annual exposition at McCormick Place.
"I'm simply amazed and equally pleased," said auto show chairman
Mike Cook. "But it's another example of how well McCormick Place South
handles massive groups of people. The incredible displays, a strong economy
and interest in the automotive industry all teamed up for a day we've never
seen before."
The new record bested the previous single-day record by more than 23,000
set in 1997. Attendance for the 91st Chicago Auto Show through nine days
stands at 1,028,316.
Sunday is end of the ten-day run for the Chicago Auto Show, with doors
open from 10 A.M. to 10 P.M.
