RV Takes to Water at MARVAC's Detroit RV show

Whatever Floats Your ... RV?! RV Takes to Water at MARVAC's Detroit RV show
NOVI, Mich., Feb. 12 -- Okay, so it's not really floating ...
but as anyone visiting the 33rd Annual Detroit Camper and RV Show can tell
you, it is one spectacular visual experience. The 1999 "Dolphin," a 37-foot
motor home with two slide-outs, makes its first appearance at an RV show
"floating" on a glistening pool of water. Complete with a 12-foot waterfall
cascading from the Dolphin's roof, water lilies and tropical goldfish, this RV
display is truly awe-inspiring.
The "pool" is actually a 20-foot by 50-foot platform which stands 12
inches high and holds 4,000 gallons of water ... creating the illusion that
the Dolphin is actually floating serenely atop 6 inches of water. The blue
"wave" decals on the Dolphin's sides complement the water-spouting fish that
surround the impressive RV.
The masterminds behind this innovative display are Dan White of H & W
Motorhomes and Joe Barson of Barson's Greenhouses. Working together, they are
responsible for creating the most memorable RV display in history.
It's not too late for you to see this amazing sight. Just head down to
the Novi Expo Center and see the Dolphin up close at the 33rd Annual Detroit
Camper & RV Show. The show runs from Saturday, February 13 through Sunday,
February 21 and is open weekdays from 2-9 p.m., on Saturdays from Noon-9 p.m.,
and on Sundays from Noon-6 p.m. The cost for adult admission (age 13 and up)
is $6.50; children 12 and under are admitted free! 2-for-1 coupons are
available at participating RV dealers.
The show is sponsored by the Michigan Association of Recreational Vehicles
and Campgrounds (MARVAC), a member organization representing all aspects of
the camping and RV industries.
Consumers can call 517-349-8881 for additional information on the RV show.
