Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to Auction Vehicles Feb. 25
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 8 -- Department of General Services
(DGS) Secretary Gary E. Crowell today announced the state will auction 210
used state vehicles at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, in the Commonwealth Garage
at 2221 Forster St., Harrisburg.
The auction will include Chevrolet Cavaliers and Caprices; Ford Crown
Victorias; and Dodge Spirits, Caravans and Shadows.
Prospective bidders may inspect the vehicles at the
Commonwealth Garage or at locations statewide from Monday, Feb. 8, through
Tuesday, Feb. 23. Bidders must register and receive a number on Feb. 8.
Buyers must pay with cash, postal money order, certified check or cashier's
check. Personal, municipal or company checks will not be accepted.
In addition to bringing revenue to the state, the auction allows the
Commonwealth to dispose of state-owned vehicles that are no longer needed and
eliminate the high maintenance costs associated with those vehicles.
