Toyota Motor Credit Selects FileNET Panagon Software To Deliver Superior Car-Financing Experience to Customers

    COSTA MESA, Calif.--Feb. 1, 1999--

Company to Use Integrated Document Management Solution to Access
    Customer Information and Speed Processing

FileNET Corp. today announced that Toyota Motor Credit Corp. (TMCC), a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., will deploy Panagon(TM) IDM software across its enterprise to streamline credit application processing and offer real-time access to customer documents. As a result of this agreement signed in the third quarter of 1998, TMCC, which provides financial services to more than 1,300 Toyota and Lexus dealers, will be able to provide faster credit approvals and greatly enhanced customer inquiry response times. The contract calls for three stages of deployment: development, test and production.
"This new FileNET integrated document management solution represents a key opportunity for TMCC to increase customer responsiveness and maximize productivity, key factors in strengthening our position in the marketplace," said Jesse Zamora, national operations implementation team manager at TMCC. "TMCC is one of the most paper-intensive business units of Toyota. By integrating document imaging and workflow technologies, we will have a significant, positive impact on many of TMCC's business processes."
The solution, which will encompass nearly 2,500 users was developed by Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group, a FileNET ValueNET(R) partner. The system will ultimately be deployed in 39 locations across the United States to manage customer records and dealers files, and to significantly reduce paper and paper handling. As part of the solution, Deloitte & Touche has developed custom applications to automate manual processes in various business units at TMCC.
"To maintain our leadership position in this highly competitive and rapidly changing environment, we must strive to improve our customer service and staff efficiency," added Zamora. "To achieve this, we have developed an office automation plan with the goal of improving our work processes supported by FileNET's technology."
