Big changes are in store net year for vehicle registration fees, red light runners, and owners of radar detection devices due to recently passed laws.
Find out the details before they take effect at a seminar hosted by experts from AAA, the California Highway Patrol and the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

The seminar is open to news media, law enforcement officials, judges, court referees and commissioners, but not to the general public. Experts will be available for media interviews throughout the seminar.
Laws to be explained include AB 2797, a budget bill that provides for a 25 percent reduction in vehicle license fees beginning January 1, 1999. In future years, the vehicle license fee rate could be reduced by an even greater amount.
SB 1964 (Costa) will prohibit any vehicle from being equipped with any radar jamming device. The law also prohibits the purchasing, selling, manufacturing or distributing of such devices.
