RECARO Introduces Exclusive Brand Package for Vehicles
    LAS VEGAS, Nov. 3 -- Move over Eddie Bauer!  Today RECARO
unveiled an exclusive RECARO-edition 1999 Ford Expedition XLT with
complementary front and back seats, trimmed with leather and fabric featuring
enhanced interior and exterior accents, with exclusive RECARO badging.
Initial RECARO plans include targeting this RECARO interior upgrade package to
the popular sport utility and light truck markets.
    "We are excited to introduce this unique RECARO package that will
differentiate vehicles in the marketplace," said John Marcozzi, director,
aftermarket business group.  "This allows RECARO to generate business in a
non-traditional sector -- new car dealerships.  Complete RECARO vehicle
interior upgrade packages on select vehicles now will be available exclusively
through our network of authorized dealers."
    This new direction in its aftermarket strategy is three-pronged:  It will
strengthen RECARO's business partnerships with its current dealer network, as
well as new dealers.  It affords RECARO the opportunity to partner with
automotive aftermarket restylers, who will sell to new-car dealerships,
representing an avenue to offer RECARO seating products.  And RECARO has
established a new value-added price strategy, which includes reductions of
about 25 percent on RECARO seats to dealers, which will create a substantial
opportunity for them to develop a whole new market.
    RECARO expects the number of dealers in its network to increase by 50 in
1999.
    Seat attachment bracket hardware for 25 vehicle applications will be
available by year's end.  These brackets meet all applicable Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
    The 1999 Ford Expedition featured at SEMA features leather-trimmed "Trend"
bucket seats with adjustable thigh extension, which allow occupants to enjoy
individualized comfort.  Optional on this seat is RECARO's patented
ventilation system (Vent) that circulates air in the seat cushion and back,
drawing moisture and vapors away from the body and venting it out the back of
the seat.  Seat-heating is included in this Vent system.
    The RECARO-package is completed with matching leather-trimmed back bench
seats, interior side panels, color-coordinated leather-wrapped steering wheel,
RECARO floor mats, as well as uniquely designed exterior fascia and RECARO
body side appliques and badging.
    The phrase "Made by RECARO" on the seat truly does mean something special.
