NAVC and Ford Partner on Web Site for Natural Gas Locator in the Northeast
BOSTON, Sept. 14 -- The Northeast Alternative Vehicle
Consortium (NAVC) is pleased to announce that Ford Motor Company will be
sponsoring the Northeast CNG Locator Web Site for refueling natural gas
vehicles. NAVC and Ford have worked together to create a state-of-the-art
Natural Gas Locator on NAVC's web site. You are now able to locate every
natural gas refueling station in the northeast United States. This site will
be updated to include any new refueling stations that become available. This
site will be able to map out any route from New Jersey to Maine detailing all
the sites along the way with directions and hours of operation. Visit the
Company's web site at http://www.navc.org/StateInfra.html.
Gov. Almond of Rhode Island, who is on NAVC's Board of Directors, made the
announcement at the 16th National Natural Gas Vehicle Conference and
Exhibition being held this week in Providence, Rhode Island. NAVC is a
public -- private partnership of the eight Northeast states working towards
implementing clean fueled vehicles throughout the region.
Ford offers the broadest variety of natural gas vehicles in the world. In
1998, the company's North American NGV lineup includes six vehicles --
a dedicated Crown Victoria sedan, F-250 pickup and Econoline van, and a
bi-fuel Contour sedan, F-series truck and Econoline van. In addition, the
Crown Victoria is sold as a police package around the country and is newly
available in a taxi package with extended range.
