    BURBANK, Calif., Sept. 9 -- BAT International's
(OTC Bulletin Board: BAAT) has completed and sent out a video news release to
a 53 station TV network that will be airing the news clips on both TV news (if
scheduling permits) and industry week magazine programs. The American
Independent Network consists of a group of 53 TV stations nationwide that
reach approximately 18-20 million viewers. The program will be offered to
network stations and airing is expected in the next 72 hours. To obtain
information about program schedules and pickup of the story by individual
stations, visit American Independent Network's web site at http://www.aini.com.
Other stations have also requested a copy of the video, including a
Detroit station running a special automotive news program. A 1 minute and 3
1/2 minute segment have been distributed with footage of the results of both
track and highway testing. The tests compared the BAT Supercar, which has a
proprietary Dolphin Pulse Charge engine technology in a Geo Metro and the
Toyota Prius, which uses a hybrid electric drive system. In recent tests, the
BAT Supercar has achieved 81 miles per gallon at 55 mph on the highway, a 30%
improvement over the Toyota Prius (see press release 8/31/98).
BAT has set up several web sites to provide detailed follow up information
to viewers. The video news release ends with a discussion of how a small
portion of fuel savings realized by the BAT Supercar is the result of a new
product BAT is marketing called SuperBAT TVT. SuperBAT has just completed a
web site that provides detailed information about SuperBAT's new line of anti-
friction treatment products that improve engine life and fuel economy
(http://www.superbat.com). A hyperlink in the home page of the SuperBAT site will
also refer web browsers to a second site that provides information about the
BAT Supercar and Toyota Prius field tests including data on track, highway and
urban testing. This site can be reached at http://www.batsupercar.com.
The utilization of the internet in combination with news segments and
advertising will provide a unique opportunity for BAT to combine technology
demonstration, information dissemination and product marketing to gain a whole
new level of exposure in world markets. The use of the internet enables BAT
to reach a broad international market now seeking information on technology.
Access to large U.S. audiences through the SuperBAT ad campaign will also be
very helpful in generating company and product brand awareness and in
generating sales revenue.
BAT International is organized as a holding company with major ownership
position in a set of subsidiary companies now commercializing advanced
automotive and energy technology products developed by BAT over the last six
years. This includes electric vehicles, super-efficient or high power
engines, advanced batteries and power electronics, electric bicycles and
scooters, super anti-friction additives and electric power generation, (for
