Kia Achieves Third-Best Sales Month in History

    IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 1 -- August proved to be another record
sales month for Kia Motors America.  The company today announced that 8,016
vehicles were sold during the month, making August 1998 Kia's third largest
sales month ever.
    The August sales total represents the latest milestone in an already
prosperous sales year for Kia, as reflected by Kia's year-to-date sales nearly
doubling those of last year.
    Kia is in the midst of its market-by-market roll-out, which will culminate
in a national dealer network by the end of 1998.  Kia now has more than 435
dealerships in 43 states.
