SPX Becomes BMW Equipment Program Partner

SPX Chosen as Equipment Program Partner By BMW of North America, Inc.

    MUSKEGON, Mich., Aug. 18 -- SPX Corporation today
announced an agreement with BMW of North America, Inc., Montvale, New Jersey,
to assume the administrative functions of BMW's service equipment program.
Under the agreement, SPX's Dealer Equipment and Services business will market
BMW authorized service equipment to the 350 BMW centers throughout the United
States.  Prior to this agreement, BMW managed its service equipment program
internally.
    Commenting on the agreement, Thomas J. Riordan, President of SPX's Service
