American Quantum Cycles Inc. Books $3,693,480 in Sales

    MELBOURNE, Fla.--August 13, 1998--American Quantum Cycles Inc. (OTC BB:AMQC) Thursday announced results from the Sturgis, S.D., motorcycle rally.
    The company signed three new dealers representing sales of $527,640, bringing American Quantum's total dealers to 21. With each dealer committing to a minimum of 10 motorcycles, this brings the company's total booked sales to $3,693,480 for fiscal year 1999, which started May 1, 1998.
    10 additional prospective dealers put applications in process at Sturgis, thus bringing the total number of new applicants to 20. In addition, more than 200 consumer requests were received, which will be passed on to the nearest American Quantum dealer. AMQC is currently in production and is accepting orders for its 1999 models.
    The company unveiled its two new 1999 models, a heavy cruiser named the Liberty and a touring model named the Pioneer. The company also announced a new 96-cubic-inch engine that had successfully passed performance tests and will soon start EPA emissions testing. The company also gave demos on its Internet graphics sales tool, the DealerNet.
    The consumer response was extremely positive to the graphical user interface of the DealerNet and the ability to customize their motorcycles on the Internet. American Quantum offers more factory-delivered customization than any other motorcycle manufacturer.
    Customization selections include choice of fenders, tires, wheels, seats, handlebars, instruments, paint designs and paint colors, among other items. The positive consumer response to the American Quantum products and the DealerNet led to strong interest on the part of attending dealers.
