1949-1999 - Motor Trend Magazine Sponsors Pebble Beach - The Tour Kicks Off 50th Anniversary
    BURBANK, Calif., Aug. 12 -- Announcing its year-long 50th
Anniversary celebration, Motor Trend Magazine is sponsoring the First Annual
Pebble Beach - The Tour, on August 13, 1998.  The tour is a day long parade of
the world's finest antique and classic cars around the scenic Monterey
peninsula.
    Leaving the Polo Field at the Pebble Beach Lodge at 9:30 a.m., The Tour
travels along famous 17-Mile Drive and picturesque Carmel Valley.  Represented
for thousands of spectators lining the route will be over half the field at
Sunday's world renowned Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
    Motor Trend, the nation's premier and largest automotive consumer
magazine, is partnering with internationally recognized events like Pebble
Beach to highlight the publication's significant role over the past in
reporting numerous exclusive breakthrough stories and investigative reports
