Best-Ever June Sales Reported by Toyota's Chicago Region
CHICAGO, July 7 -- Toyota's Chicago Region posted record car
sales in June of 6,391 vehicles, a 27 percent increase over June 1997 when
5,037 were sold. Total car and truck sales increased 25 percent, with sales
of 6,800 versus 5,466 last June.
"Our Chicago Region has achieved a three-peat, our third best-ever month
in a row for cars," said Dave Camden, general manager of the Chicago Region.
"Both Camry and Avalon had their best-ever June sales, as well. The Corolla
had an impressive 55 percent sales gain over 1997. These three North
American-built cars enjoyed an outstanding month."
"Our Spring Sales Rally buoyed by a continuing strong economy and consumer
confidence enabled our dealers to carry on the momentum of record sales for
the first-half of 1998," Camden said.
The Toyota Chicago Region includes 114 dealers in Illinois, Indiana,
Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
