Budget Rent a Car Announces Acquisition of its Franchise Operations in San Juan, Puerto Rico

    LISLE, Ill., May 28 -- Budget Rent a Car Corporation, a
subsidiary of Budget Group Inc. , announced that it has acquired
franchise operations in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
    Today Budget Rent a Car operates a fleet of 700 vehicles from its five
locations in the San Juan area, including the Luis Munoz Marin International
Airport.
    San Juan is the main entry port to the Caribbean isles and serves as a
very important market to travelers throughout the region.  "We believe that
establishing a corporate leadership role in San Juan will enhance Budget's
brand image and offer a consistent level of quality service to our customers,"
states Sandy Miller, chairman and CEO of Budget Group.
    As part of Budget's strategy to aggressively grow its car and truck rental
presence in local market areas, Budget plans to expand its operations within
Puerto Rico where untapped opportunities exist, such as introducing truck
rental programs in the region.
