Auto Trader Online Reaching Car Enthusiasts Through The Auto Channel
NORFOLK, VA, May 28, 1998 -- Auto Trader Online (http://www.traderonline.com) and
The Auto Channel (http://www.theautochannel.com) announce an affiliate relationship
to provide The Auto Channel users access to the Internet's largest used car
database on Auto Trader Online. In turn, the one million monthly visitors to
Auto Trader Online will gain access to The Auto Channel's unique site
offerings through Auto Trader Online's Auto Buying Resources, Pricing Guide
and Cool Links areas.
The agreement creates a classified area on The Auto Channel website where
visitors can search for their next car from among the more than 500,000 used
cars currently for sale in the Auto Trader Online database. In addition,
visitors wishing to sell a vehicle may add their car to the database from the
same location.
"We are pleased to provide The Auto Channel direct access to Auto Trader
Online, home of the Internet's largest used car database," announces Mike
Mastrullo, Product Manager for Auto Trader Online. "In addition to sharing
our vehicles with their visitors, this affiliation brings an entirely new set
of buyers to view the used cars within the Auto Trader Online database."
With a single listing, used car sellers-both dealers and consumers-gain
exposure to Auto Trader Online and The Auto Channel respective visitors with
no additional cost or effort. Visitors to either site, choosing to advertise
their cars, will benefit from a significantly larger group of buyers.
"The Auto Channel has a highly-specialized site geared toward the serious
car enthusiast. We are particularly impressed with the content they provide
the racing community, mechanical and manufacturing communities," says Peter
Ill, Vice President and General Manager of Trader Online. "This affiliation
brings a high-quality demographic to view our used car inventory."
"Having been a satisfied Auto Trader publication customer and user for the
past several years, I can attest to the value of Auto Trader," said Marc J.
Rauch, Executive Vice President of The Auto Channel. "My personal experience
only makes this alliance sweeter, because I know that The Auto Channel's
audience will now have access to the best selection and opportunity to buy or
sell any type of used vehicle. And we're equally excited about being able to
offer our unique content directly to Trader Online's audience."
