New Management Team Has Big Impact on Paxton Automotive SalesCAMARILLO, Calif., May 27 -- Just three months since the acquisition of Paxton Automotive Corporation, the new management team of J.R. Granatelli and David Adams, Jr. have doubled the company's sales. Granatelli and Adams purchased the automotive portion of Paxton Products, Inc., January 1, 1998 with the intent of expanding Paxton's line of high performance centrifugal superchargers and high-pressure, high-volume electronic fuel systems for light trucks and passenger cars. Granatelli had served as national sales manager and vice president of Paxton Products since 1992; Adams came to the firm with a strong track record in financial management. Granatelli credits the increased sales with dealer excitement over Paxton's new down-sized Novi 2000 supercharger. "The Novi is one of the most advanced superchargers on the market today," said Granatelli. "It operates quieter and more efficiently while providing greater gains of power and torque than its competitors." Predicting a surge in the use of superchargers, Granatelli noted that with the efficiency of today's engines, supercharging is the best way to increase horsepower. "One market segment that's ripe for development is the light truck owner," said Granatelli. "Supercharging provides the on-demand power drivers who tow really need." All Paxton Automotive products designed for street use comply with California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations, are 50-state legal and designed to interface with the automakers' current On-Board Diagnostic (OBD II) computers. "With products like the Novi 2000, J.R. and I were confident Paxton would be on the leading edge of aftermarket technology for years to come," Adams said. "The first quarter figures indicate our confidence was well placed."
