Cross-Continent Auto Retailers Opens Las Vegas' Newest Toyota Dealership

    AMARILLO, Texas, May 4 -- Cross-Continent Auto Retailers,
Inc. , the nation's first publicly traded franchised auto dealer
group, today announced the relocation and grand opening of Toyota West in Las
Vegas, Nevada.
    "The completion of the new facility adds to our existing cluster of
dealerships in the Las Vegas area, which is one of the fastest growing markets
in the nation.  The company has six retail locations in Las Vegas,
representing eight different manufacturers' brands.  The company intends to
continue leasing Toyota West's previous facility and utilize it to achieve
brand diversification and to better optimize new and used vehicle
merchandising," said Bill Gilliland, chairman and chief executive officer for
Cross-Continent.
    The dealership is located at 6300 W. Sahara Avenue, and the new facility
is in close proximity to the company's other operations in the Las Vegas
market.  Toyota West is Las Vegas' newest dealership which features a state of
the art facility for new and used vehicle sales, replacement parts and vehicle
repair services.
    "We are excited to be able to provide Toyota West's customers the comfort
of a brand new store,  a relaxed atmosphere, the convenience of a customer
lounge and extended hours for vehicle sales, parts and service.  The new
facility provides an excellent environment for serving all of our customers'
needs," said Gilliland.
    The all new Toyota West has a 14,000 square foot showroom, a 42,000 square
foot service center and a 5,600 square foot fully computerized parts
department and after-market accessories boutique.  Toyota West is able to
accommodate an inventory of up to 1,200 vehicles. The new dealership is
located on approximately ten acres of land.
    Cross-Continent acquired the dealership in April 1997 along with Denver
Toyota in Denver, Colorado.
    "Our objective at the new Toyota West is to provide a friendly atmosphere
for our customers, and to ensure the most satisfactory car shopping experience
in Nevada", said Jay Goodart, General Manager.
    Toyota West Parts and Service Departments will open at 7:00am on Monday
through Saturday.  Sales will open at 8:30am.  Toyota West will be closed on
Sunday.
    Toyota West was designed and engineered by Martin Design and constructed
by G.J.'s General Contractors, Inc.
    Cross-Continent Auto Retailers, Inc. owns and operates a group of
franchised automobile retail dealerships in Texas, Oklahoma, Nevada and
