Mazda Announces Parts Price Reductions

    IRVINE, Calif., April 20 -- Mazda North American Operations
(MNAO) today announced new, lower prices on several categories of maintenance-
related parts.  The targeted parts groups include brake pads, brake shoes, air
filters, oil filters, fuel filters, spark plugs, plug wire sets, distributor
caps and distributor rotors.
    On a national sales-weighted basis, prices dropped approximately 23
percent across the U.S.  "This pricing initiative emphasizes Mazda's strong
commitment to provide competitively priced parts to Mazda dealers, their
customers and independent repair shops," said Duke Hale, vice president of
Customer Service and Parts Operations at MNAO.  "This pricing action
symbolizes Mazda's dedication to providing a satisfying ownership experience
for the millions of Mazda owners throughout the United States."
    Mazda North American Operations is responsible for the research and
development, sales and marketing, and customer parts and service support of
Mazda vehicles in the United States.  Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., MNAO
has approximately 850 dealerships nationwide and is owned by Mazda Motor
Corporation, Hiroshima, Japan.
