ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 17 -- In a major defeat for General
Motors today, Hollywood Florida Judge Arthur Franza is making public GM
documents expected to show that for years the automaker has covered up its
decision to do nothing in the face of knowledge that its fuel tanks can burst
into flames in crashes.
Two people, including 13-year-old Shane McGee, whose parents are suing GM,
died in the July 13, 1991, crash that prompted the suit. A video of the fiery
crash is available from Ralph Hoar & Associates. Documents concerning the
trial are posted on the Web site of Ralph Hoar & Associates.
As soon as the GM documents become available they will be posted on the
Web site at http://www.SafetyForum.com.
