Federal-Mogul Donates $50,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Metropolitan Detroit

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 2 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation
made a $50,000 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Metropolitan Detroit during the Bowling For Kids' Sake kick-off celebration
held Friday, January 30, at Federal-Mogul World Headquarters.
"This is in recognition and appreciation of the fine job that you and your
associates have done in bringing Federal-Mogul employees into the program,
educating us about Big Brothers Big Sisters and generating the enthusiasm that
has spread throughout this corporation," said Tom Ryan, chief financial
officer, as he presented the check to Joe Radelet, executive director of Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit. "This is our way of saying
'thank you.'"
Federal-Mogul hosted the Bowling For Kids' Sake Bowl-a-thon kick-off to
build excitement and interest in the organization's largest fundraising event
of the year. Money raised from the event funds one-on-one mentoring programs.
"This is a tremendous gesture on the part of Federal-Mogul and on the part of
Dick and Sheridan Snell," Radelet said, referring to Federal-Mogul's Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer Dick Snell, who serves on the national board of
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and his wife Sheridan, who serves on the
local board. "We're just so happy to have this partnership with you. This is
a terrific example of corporate citizenship. We applaud and thank you."
In addition to the $50,000 donation, Federal-Mogul has committed to
recruiting 184 bowlers for the company's bowling day, scheduled for March 7 at
Thunderbird Lanes in Troy, Michigan. Federal-Mogul announced it will provide
matching funds for all pledges raised during its designated bowling day.
Last year, Federal-Mogul unveiled its partnership plan with Big Brothers Big
Sisters, which includes at least 10,000 hours of volunteer time from Federal-
Mogul employees.
Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is a $2 billion
global manufacturer and distributor of a broad range of non-discretionary
parts primarily for automobiles, light trucks, heavy trucks, and farm and
construction vehicles. The company was founded in 1899. Visit the company's
