New Year's Resolution: Drive Something That Moves You

-- Budget Offers Sport Utilities for Just $39 per Day in Florida
and $45 per Day in Other Major Markets --

LISLE, Ill., Dec. 23 -- Keep your New Year's resolution this
year: ditch "boring" and embrace "exciting." Add a little adventure and
excitement to your life by renting a sport utility vehicle from participating
Budget Rent a Car locations throughout sunny Florida -- for just $39 a day,
effective January 4 - 31, 1998.
Based on a recent Budget survey, results reveal that less than 20 percent
of Americans drive their "ideal image" vehicle, and nearly half (48 percent)
of American drivers would prefer to drive a sport utility vehicle or pickup
truck.
"Our survey results were right on target. Sport utilities comprise a
large portion of our specialty fleet, especially in Florida, where they are
popular as family vacation vehicles and quick weekend getaways," states Mark
Sotir, senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing and Reservation Operations
for Budget Rent a Car Corporation.
To qualify for Budget's special unlimited mileage rate on sport utility
vehicles, customers must book the car between December 28 and January 11 for
travel during January 4-31, 1998. The car must be picked up between Sunday
and Wednesday, and renters should mention rate code 'LV' at the time of
reservation. Customers must pay for their rental with an American Express
card.
Outside of Florida, Budget customers can rent sport utility vehicles for
just $45 a day at participating Budget locations in select major markets, with
the same qualifications.
These special offers cannot be used with any other discount or promotional
offer. Customers must reserve the vehicle at least 24-hours in advance of
pickup. Since availability of vehicles at these rates are limited, customers
are encouraged to book as early as possible.
Optional LDW is $18.99 per day or less, where available. Refueling
services, taxes, California vehicle license fee not to exceed $1.98 per day,
10% or less airport concession fee, surcharges and optional items are extra.
Local rental and age requirements apply. Locations that rent to drivers under
the age of 25 may impose an age surcharge.
To find out more about this great New Year's deal, customers can simply
call Budget's toll-free reservations at 800-527-0700 or contact their travel
professional.
Budget's WorldClass Fleet of specialty vehicles, which represents nearly
one-third of the total fleet, includes sport utilities (Ford Expedition, Ford
Explorer), convertibles (Saleen Mustang, Ford Mustang), minivans (Ford
Windstar), passenger vans, luxury cars (Jaguar, Lincoln Town Car, Saab), VIP
Pickups (Ford Ranger XLT, Chevy S10) and motorcycles (Harley-Davidson), to
name a few.
Budget Rent a Car Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Budget Group,
Inc. , is one of the world's top three car and truck rental systems.
The Budget system, which operates under the same name worldwide, has more than
3,200 airport and local market locations in over 120 countries and
territories. Budget has nearly 1,000 corporate-owned and franchised locations
in the United States, including more than 90 locations in Florida.
