Westar, Ultradata Announce Agreement to Co-Market In-Vehicle Driver Information System

    ST. LOUIS and DALLAS, Dec. 15 -- Ultradata Systems, Inc.
and Westar have announced that the two companies will work
together to provide a unique travel information system to mass-market
consumers.  The in-vehicle driver information system will utilize global
positioning satellite technology, Ultradata Systems, Inc.'s patented data
compression technology for road services and directions, and Westar's live-
operator response center.  Westar's response center provides the user with the
option of emergency, roadside assistance and concierge services.
    "Safety, security and peace-of-mind are so important to today's travelers.
This strategic relationship was specifically formed to support the needs of
our customers on the road.  Our hardware and software combined with Westar's
24-hour emergency, navigation and information services meets the complete
needs of the traveler.  TravelStar GPS is better than any other system, even

officer of Ultradata.
    "This agreement represents a continuation of Westar's initiative to
dedicate resources beyond our traditional home security market," said Steve

    Ultradata designs, manufactures and markets handheld information systems
that utilize a proprietary data compression technology.  This technology
allows Ultradata to store tremendous amounts of information in a small memory
chip.  Several product lines have been developed, including portable handheld
systems for travel, golf and gardening.  Ultradata has sold over two million
travel related information systems and their products can be found in most
catalogs and at retail outlets.  Ultradata Systems, Inc. continues to produce

for their development of the RESCU product.  RESCU (Remote Emergency Satellite
Cellular Unit), is an on-board safety system that employs cellular and global
positioning satellite technology.  In addition to providing emergency roadside
assistance, including an airbag notification system that contacts Westar's
response center whenever an airbag deploys.  Westar also offers navigational
services to motorists and will continue to pioneer leading-edge technology for
