N.Y.I.A.S. Names Sheraton Hotel & Towers Its Headquarters Hotel For The 1998 Show

            Press Days are on April 8 & 9; Opening Day is April 11

    NEW YORK, Dec. 10 -- The New York International Automobile
Show (NYIAS) has announced that the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers will
serve as the headquarters hotel for the 1998 Show.
    Lourdes Gonzalez, NY account director for Sheraton Hotels, said it "made
her day" when the NYIAS chose Sheraton. "We look forward to rolling out the
red carpet for all of the exhibitors and attendees of this important auto
industry event," added Gonzalez.
    All media and manufacturer representatives who contact the Sheraton before
March 16, 1998 will qualify for the reduced rates. They are as follows:

    Single:       $155.00     One bedroom Suite:  $475.00
    Double        $155.00     Two bedroom Suite:  $650.00
    Addt'l person  $30.00

    Club Level Towers Single or Double:          $219.00/$239.00

    The 1998 NYIAS will host Press Preview Days on Wednesday, April 8th and
Thursday, April 9th.  Dealer/Supplier Preview Day will be held on Friday,
April 10th.  The Auto Show will take place from Saturday, April 11th, to
Sunday, April 19th, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.

    More than 1,000 cars and trucks will be on display at the 1998 NYIAS,
filling 750,000 square feet of exhibit space.  In addition, over a dozen
World, National, and Regional vehicle debuts are expected at the 1998 Show.
Attendance at the 1997 New York International Automobile Show surpassed
1.1 million for the 9th consecutive year.  In addition, over 3,200 members of
the media attended the Show.  Expectations are for increased press and public
attendance in 1998.
