 Auto-By-Tel FasTrak Gives Consumers Faster Access to Low-Cost, Pain-Free Car
   Buying, While Extensive Researching Tools Direct Car Buyers to Unbiased,
         Third-Party Sources For Making Informed Car Buying Decisions

    IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 9 -- Auto-By-Tel Corporation, the
leading online car buying program, launched its next generation website today,
incorporating a new FasTrak car buying feature that lets consumers begin
the online car buying process directly from its homepage
(http://www.autobytel.com).  Users who haven't made their purchase decision are
encouraged to do their research through one or all of the four most widely
respected automotive information sites, including AutoSite, Edmund's, Kelley
Blue Book and IntelliChoice, all of which are easily accessed through Auto-By-
Tel's homepage.  Auto-By-Tel's multiple automotive information providers lets
car buyers compare data from third-party resources, gathering pricing
information, reading reviews, viewing model specifications and more.
    Visitors who follow links outside the Auto-By-Tel site will have access to
a framed version of Auto-By-Tel FasTrak and will be able to begin the car
buying process from any of Auto-By-Tel's partner sites.  Current strategic
partners include many of the top visited sites on the Web, including Infoseek,
Excite, GeoCities, AT&T WorldNet Services, NBC.Com, iVillage, and more.  Auto-
By-Tel believes this design will significantly increase the number of
customers that submit Purchase Requests for both new and used vehicles.

    The new FasTrak process lets users begin their search for new or certified
used vehicles from Auto-By-Tel's homepage or one of its partners' pages by
selecting the make of the vehicle they desire and entering their zip code.
Next, users are asked to choose a specific model and whether they'd like to
purchase a new vehicle or a certified pre-owned vehicle from Auto-By-Tel's
Certified Used Car CyberStore.  At that point, car buyers will see a digital
picture of the new or used vehicle of choice before proceeding with the
Purchase Request.
