Visteon Audio Head Units Ranked Highest by J.D. Power and Associates

DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 24 -- Visteon Automotive Systems' audio
head units are the best in North American-built vehicles, according to J.D.
Power and Associates. The 1997 Audio Quality Report ranks Visteon as the
"highest quality Head Unit Supplier" with the fewest consumer-reported
problems in new 1997 vehicles after three months of ownership.
"We are absolutely thrilled with the results of the J.D. Power report
because we believe that having the best quality is critical to making our
customers successful," says Charles Szuluk, president, Visteon Automotive
Systems. "Visteon is committed to providing the best systems solutions and
this is one example of how customers are the primary focus of our business."
According to consumers surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates, Visteon
manufactures the highest quality audio head units in North American-built
vehicles with 3.6 problems per 100 vehicles. The industry average is 5.1.
The report determines quality rankings by reporting audio head unit problems
consumers have experienced, or things gone wrong.
The head units are produced at Visteon's Altec Electronics Plant in
Chihuahua, Mexico, and its FIC Plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil -- both part of
Visteon's Electronics Systems Division. The Electronics Systems Division
provides automotive components and systems in four key areas: driver
information systems, multimedia, body and safety systems, and component
engineering and new business development.
Visteon Automotive Systems, an enterprise of Ford Motor Company
with nearly a century of experience, has 78,000 employees located in 74
plants, including 29 joint venture facilities, and 30 sales offices,
